ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCIES AND GROWTH OF SMALL BUSINESSES IN ABUJA, NIGERIA

Abstract
The study evaluated the effect of entrepreneurial competencies on the growth of small businesses in Abuja, Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research design. The population of small businesses in Abuja in this study is 2244 and this is reduced to 399 using Yamane of 1967. The study collected data using a questionnaire that was administered to the respondents. Regression was to analyze the data and the findings showed that that entrepreneurial competencies have a negative and significant effect on the expansion of small businesses in Abuja. The study recommended that small businesses in Abuja should apply fully the concept of entrepreneurial competencies in doing conducting their business activities even if there is a negative effect on the growth of small businesses now. It is believed that in the future if the concept is fully adopted by small businesses, they will be a positive significant effect in the future.

Experiencing Malaria Earlier Aggravates the COVID-19 Symptoms Senol Dane Murat Akyuz     ABSTRACT Introduction: In the present study, the effects of the frequency of experienced malaria and flu/cold on the symptom severity in patients with COVID-19 were investigated. Materials and Method: Subjects were those who experienced COVID-19 and recovered. Eighty-one subjects were included in the study. All of them were voluntarily to participate in this study (51 men and 30 women). Out of 81 cases, 48 were expat and 33 were Nigerian. Data was collected by using an online survey. The survey was shared by using social media. Results: The number of symptoms and overall symptom severity were higher in people with 2 or more malaria than in people with 1 or zero malaria in the last year.
